ST MARY RESIDENCE

This residence is located in the center of Kuala Lumpur not far from the KLCC Petronas Towers. The main task of the project was to preserve the original space of the main room of the apartment with large windows. We wanted to preserve the light and volumes of the rooms as much as possible, so the living room/kitchen - the central part of the apartment - was treated introducing a screen so to provide multiple configurations while maintaining the openness of this central space, which helps to preserve the feeling of a common space.

The interior is a mixture of contemporary and tropical element. In the spacious living room is fitted with elegant carpentry works merged with black steel fittings, whole in the bedroom a white spray painted wardrobe fades out in contrast with teak furniture standing out next to a simple shaped bed, and finished with chrome ‘Spider’ spherical suspension lamp by LODES atop of each bed side tables.
Oak timber in combination with black marble can be traced throughout the interior. The existing kitchen was completely remodeled, and as the entire apartment remains small for this family of four, it was critical to capture every square inch so to be used productively.
